about me
I started in graphic design, learned to understand clients through an unexpected parallel career, moved to Austria to become more technical, and eventually brought design, development, 3D and AI together.

CH. 012006 - 2011
This is where I learned to think through typography, composition, color and visual systems, and where design became the way I understand ideas.

CH. 022011
I graduated as a graphic designer, ready to create. The path ahead, though, would be less linear than expected.

CH. 03PARALLEL PATH
Alongside that work, I kept designing, learning and creating independently. The parallel path gave me discipline, perspective and a more human understanding of client work.

CH. 042021 - 2025
I moved to Austria to become more technical. I studied Creative Computing at FH St. Pölten.

CH. 05NOW
Today I work between visual design and technology. Creativity is still my strongest tool; development, 3D and AI help me turn ideas into real, useful experiences.

Still curious. Now ready to build what comes next.
felps
felps/ is my own brand. Through it I offer creative development, web and interaction design, and brand and visual systems.
When I created my email address, I wanted a name of my own, but my name is quite common in Chile. It was 2008, the year of the Beijing Olympics, and I was following the swimming with real enthusiasm. I admired Michael Phelps for his discipline, and that is where “felps” came from.
It was never about his medals. For me, the name stands for discipline, ambition and the wish to build something of my own. Today, with its slash, it is my brand.
Well and this is me...
THE PERSON BEHIND THE CHARACTER.

my philosophy
Good digital work should be clear, useful and memorable. Without losing its personality.
I genuinely love design and development. I enjoy getting into the details, spending time on the craft and discovering tools that help me reach a better result. I work hard, but I also make space to disconnect. Stepping away is often when new ideas arrive.
building blocks
Five ideas I return to when I design and build. They help me make work that feels clear, useful and human.
Good work begins with listening. Before shaping the interface, I want to understand the people, the context and the real problem.
Technology can be complex; the experience should not feel that way. Structure, hierarchy and language should make the path clearer.
AI can accelerate design and development, but it can also amplify poor decisions. I use it to explore and build faster. Then I question, refine and validate the result, because quality still depends on human judgment.
I use 3D and motion when they help people understand or enjoy an experience. If they only add noise, I leave them out.
I keep learning, experimenting and questioning, while remembering that every digital experience ultimately meets a real person.
